Hey I'm Lee. My blog was put up to house useful nuggets I could refer back to, document my learning curves on new technologies and house tutorials I write for Umbraco and other .NET stuff.

ASPLD v3.0 Released

Development of ASPLD (ASP.NET Link & Article Directory) has been slow for the last few months, but I had a few days spare over the last week so thought I would try and implement some of the features I have been wanting in the software and what a few people have emailed me about (These changes mainly revolve around the Article directory side of the software) – I have listed them below:

General Tweaks

I have given the software a quick once over and sorted all the little bugs / annoyances that I had found from using it myself and from what people had reported – Hopefully making it easier to use from the front end and back end.

Search Facility

ASPLD now has a search facility, and you can return ‘keyword’ results on both links and articles [more]

Article Only or Link Only Modes (Or both)

This is something I have wanted from the software for a while, as I was going to create a separate bit of software just for this but thought it was stupid considering ASPLD has a great foundation – So you can now run it in three different modes.

  1. Articles Only: Turn it into an Article directory only
  2. Links Only: Turn it into a Link directory only
  3. Both: Have it as both an Article and Link directory

Paid Articles & Guidelines

You can now create custom types of submissions for your articles - You can set a price or let them submit for free and now also create custom guidelines just for articles.

Themes

I have added another Theme called... Angel (Shown Below) which I adapted from a BlogEngine.NET/WordPress theme.

angel

See the ASPLD Home Page to download it for free or you can see a live working version of the software here: http://directory.n3o.co.uk

I hope you enjoy the software and you can use it for your projects, please feel free to post your ASPLD directory installations below and get some free promotion (All valid directories using ASPLD will be authorised)
